Welcome to Continuing and Professional Education of Outreach and
International Affairs at Virginia Tech. As part of a rapidly growing
outreach activity at the university, we provide more than 400 short
courses, seminars, workshops, training programs, and conferences to
30,000 individuals per year. Most of this activity involves
post-graduate level instruction for individuals who are seeking to
develop their knowledge and skill in their respective professional
areas.

VA SCAN 2008 Conference The Moving Target: IT Security
October 6-7, 2008
An annual event for discussing current security issues and sharing ideas on effective IT security practices. On
Monday there will be three concurrent tracks holding presentations:
Management Track, Technical Track, and Audit Track.
Repair Design for New and Existing Wood Trusses
October 15-17, 2008
The professional and practical repair of new metal-plate-connected wood
trusses and the repair of existing truss systems are demonstrated in
this course.
