As tree improvement programs in the South continue to increase the productivity and value of plantations for traditional forest products, changes in land ownership and diversification of goals present new opportunities and challenges. At the 30th SFTIC, we will share progress in forest tree improvement, genetics, genomics and biotechnology and explore the interface between tree improvement and changing land ownership and objectives.
