This program, developed by a national advisory group in 2008, and endorsed by AASCU, CUMU, and APLU, has received awards for its innovation and quality. The Engagement Academy for University Leaders is designed for executive that have the ability to influence or participate in planning activities that develop strategic engagement operations and policies.

This unique executive development program is designed for leaders responsible for developing institutional capacity for community engagement. Participants will develop institutional plans for engagement and will return to their campuses with the ability to advance their plan as well as effectively link community engagement to the teaching, research, and service missions of the institution.

Each year, university leaders from around the world attend the Academy. Some institutions send individuals and teams each year to expand the network of leaders on campus in order to continue to enhance and develop their plans for institutionalizing the principles and practices of community engagement.
