Mini meditations - Meditation is a wonderful practice to alleviate stress. The purpose of these meditations is to teach children how to meditate so they can use it as a tool for coping with tough situations. Parents are welcome to participate as well. Meditation is a great tool for everyone and may help with several conditions.
Mini pumpkin breathing exercise
This is a short breathing activity to help kids become aware of their breath and what happens in their body when they breathe. It serves to teach children body awareness and relaxation in a fun and engaging way.
Enchanted Fall Forest
We will start off with some long, deep breaths with our "pumpkin bellies," then ask them to imagine waking into a beautiful, enchanted forest. Notice the trees have changes and the beautiful display of fall colors - red, gold, brown and specks of green. The leaves crunch beneath your feet as you walk along. The air smells crisp and fresh and the coolness tickles your nose and ears. Feel the coolness and tingling on your nostrils as you take deep breaths in and out (they will notice the cooling sensation in nostrils), and continue to guide through the special forest where they can go anytime to calm their hearts and mind.
