Application for Funding Assistance
Deadline: April 15, 2008
Awardees will be notified by April 30, 2008. Applications received after
April 15 will be funded on a first-come-first-served basis until funds
run out.
These workshops are open to members of the research community. Funds of up
to $800 each are available to assist 15 researchers to attend
PAMGO or the
Oomycete Bioinformatics Workshop. Fellowships of up to $1000 are available
to those attending both workshops. For participants outside the United
States of America, funding can only cover accommodations. Preference will
be given to students, postdocs and junior faculty, especially those who are
minorities, or are from undergraduate institutions and/or are from EPSCoR
states or are from overseas countries that do not have established research
funding infrastructures.
Application Procedure
Applications should be no more than one-page long. The application should do the following:
- Describe your research interests
- Explain how the training will strengthen your research.
- Describe how you will extend the training to other researchers at your home institution.
In addition, provide no more than a one-page vita.

For email submission, applications may be pasted into the text of the
email, or attached as PDF or MS Word documents. It is the applicant's
responsibility to ensure that the files are readable. Email submission
prior to the deadline is encouraged in case problems with unreadable files
occur.
Irrespective of the method of submission, applications must be received
before midnight April 15, 2008 US Eastern Standard Time. Applications
received after the deadline will be considered only if there are funds
available after all applications received before the deadline have been
evaluated. Incomplete applications will not be evaluated. Awardees will be
notified by April 30, 2008.
