Location & Lodging

The 3rd Annual Southwest Virginia STEM Summit will be held at the Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center and the Welcome Reception will be held at the Moss Arts Center.

photo of building The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center is the only hotel located on the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg, Virginia, and offers convenient surroundings and state-of-the-art technology. The world-class hotel and conference center sits on 25 lush acres where you'll find spacious meeting areas and Preston's restaurant, featuring delicious fare and healthful selections for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The campus complex is within easy walking distance to downtown Blacksburg.

A small block of rooms have been reserved at the Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center---early reservations are encouraged. The cutoff date for this block is September 5, 2016, call (540) 231-8000 to reserve a room.


photo of building Moss Arts Center: Located at the very crossroads of Virginia Tech and downtown Blacksburg, on the corner of Main Street and Alumni Mall, the Center for the Arts' facilities provide a community center in the grandest sense, a place where the arts are a catalyst for engagement, inspiration, and discovery. New facilities complement existing venues, and are located in close proximity to Henderson Hall, Theatre 101, Squires Student Center, the Armory Gallery, and the Lyric Theatre forming a prominent arts district. The center's 150,000-square-foot facility includes the four-story experimental "Cube" for performance, immersive environments, installation, and adjacent research studios.


photo of The CUBE The Cube: Unique in the world, the Cube is a four-story-high, state-of-the-art theatre and high tech laboratory that serves multiple platforms of creative practice by faculty, students, and national and international guest artists and researchers. The Cube is a highly adaptable space for research and experimentation in big data exploration, immersive environments, intimate performances, audio and visual installations, and experiential investigations of all types. This facility is shared between ICAT and the Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech.
