About the Conference
The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Strong Roots for a Healthy Future Conference partners are pleased to offer a statewide conference on implementing evidence-based practices for youth.
- Who Should Attend: Families of children and adolescents with special health care needs, mental health professionals, primary health care professionals, educators, service coordinators, and any other professionals that work with youth in Virginia that have special health care needs.
- What: The goal of this conference is to improve services and outcomes for youth with special health care needs by increasing families' and professionals' knowledge of self-care and care for the family unit.
- Where and When: Richmond , Virginia on November 3, 2011.
Keynote Speaker
Dr. John Harrington, MD is a board-certified pediatrician and father of a 16 year old son with autism. He is the division director of general pediatrics at The Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD) in Norfolk, VA and a Robert Wood Johnson Fellow recipient for primary care research.
Credit Designation
All participants successfully completing the conference will receive .8 Continuing Education Unit (CEU).
