This course offers three solid days of learning about the basic theory, principles, techniques, and case law of Schedule Impact Analysis. Participants will learn four SIA techniques and will apply them to two case studies of increasing level of sophistication.
Presented and sponsored by the Vecellio Construction Engineering and Management program in the Charles E. Via, Jr. Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Who Should Attend
Time is always of the essence for all stakeholders in a construction project. Whether you represent the owner, A/E, contractor, sub-contractor, and/or construction manager, this course is for you. It will give you the vocabulary, principles, and techniques to prepare Schedule Impact Analysis to resolve claims resulting from delays.
Participants are expected to be familiar with the basic theory of CPM (Critical Path Method) and be computer literate. Participants can work alone or in pairs while utilizing Primavera Project Planner (P3) to work out two case studies.
What You Will Learn
Participants will be exposed to relevant construction law principles which govern Schedule Impact Analysis today.
Faculty and attendees will compare the similarities and important differences between the following four SIA methodologies:
- As-planned technique
- As-built technique
- Collapsed as-built technique
- Window analysis technique
