Conference Objectives

  1. Discuss the SBIRT Model: its definition and the evidence suggesting improved patient outcomes and potential cost savings.
  2. Identify patterns of use for specific populations and standardized instruments that are evidenced based for those populations.
  3. Discuss implementation of SBIRT interventions into primary care settings, emergency departments, and community health centers.
  4. Identify the concepts of Motivational Interviewing (MI) and how to gain expertise in the approach.
  5. Discuss the reimbursement for SBIRT that will improve financial sustainability for the integrated healthcare center.
