Welcome

On April 21, 2016, the School of Public and International Affairs at Virginia Tech will host a conference at the Virginia Tech Research Center in Arlington, VA. The conference aims to bridge gaps in communication and practices for individuals conducting social equity work. In particular, the conference will focus on the intersection of social equity and race. Participants will hear from leaders from across various disciplines that will address the following key questions: 1) how can we help organizations achieve racial equity outcomes on a larger scale; and 2) what are the opportunities for collaborative learning across the various disciplines and industries? There are many missed opportunities for collaborative learning due to organizations and individuals working in silos. We encourage participation from all sectors (private, public, and non-profit), and the various areas of focus (e.g. education, housing, media).
