Outreach NOW: A Forum on the Scholarship of Outreach

The Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center
Blacksburg, VA

This inaugural event focused the spotlight on Virginia Tech scholars--and a discussion of the synergies between research, teaching, and outreach scholarship. Sponsored by the Office of the Vice Provost for Outreach and International Affairs and the Commission on Outreach and International Affairs, the forum included a plenary session, panel discussion, exhibits, reception, and acknowledgements of award-winning Virginia Tech faculty. Dr. Martin Jischke, president, Purdue University, delivered the keynote address at 1:30 p.m. Dr. Jischke spoke about the role of outreach scholarship in higher education today. A reception followed the program at 5:00 p.m.
