- The Smithsonian National Zoological Park is located less than .5 miles from the
Wardman Park Marriott along Connecticut Avenue. A guided tour will be
available those interested on Tuesday morning at approximately 9:00 AM.

The National Park Service, Rock Creek Park
is located near the Marriott and a
ranger led tour will be available on Tuesday if there is sufficient

- For those interested in visiting the National Collection of
Insects, a tour of the US National Museum of Natural History
will be available on
Tuesday. Entomologists interested in working in the collection can
contact Museum specialists in their group of taxonomic interest or

- The Dendroctonus Cup Golf Tournament will be played on Tuesday at a
nearby golf course. Those interested should contact Bob Coulson

- On Wednesday, June 1, the DC United of Major League Soccer
will be playing the Seattle Sounders
at 8:00 PM. Those interested in attending should contact Scott Salom
- Baseball: Unfortunately, the Washington Nationals will not be in
town the week of the Conference, but the Baltimore Orioles will be at
home playing the Boston Red Sox on Monday afternoon and Tuesday through
Thursday evenings. If there is enough interest we can arrange
transportation to Baltimore for a group outing; please contact Bob
