Virgina Tech - Invent the Future
World Polymer Congress - June 24-29, 2012 - Virginia Tech Campus - Blacksburg, VA - USA
Welcome
Our final number of submitted abstracts has reached 1250, and we are thrilled with a 70% international presence at the conference! We have extended the registration deadline for all presenters to May 11 to accommodate this high level of response. Registration will remain open until May 25 for attendees who are not presenting. We expect to increase the number of opportunities for oral presentations, approaching nearly 750 oral presentations in 13 parallel tracks! We will work very carefully to extend invitations for oral presentation to all contributors who have requested an oral presentation, especially our international guests. The Congress will provide an international forum for scientific discovery, professional networking, research collaboration, interdisciplinary education, and dissemination of our most recent scientific advances. We have included an industrial networking event for students and postdoctoral research fellows. Our campus is open to the global polymer community and we welcome your contributions to the success of the program. Now is the time for the entire polymer community to gather and synergistically address the many challenges that we face including energy, sustainability, healthcare, safety, and emerging polymer technologies. Eleven parallel technical symposia will reflect current directions in polymer science and engineering, and our daily plenary lectures will gather the entire congress for a lively discussion. Poster sessions will occur Monday through Wednesday evenings with adjacent exhibitors to showcase state-of-the-art instrumentation. The program also consists of many excursions to enjoy the local area, please see Excursions for more details. The conference registration deadline is May 25.
