World Polymer Congress - June 24-29, 2012 - Virginia Tech Campus - Blacksburg, VA - USA

dining at D2

We highly recommend that you purchase a campus meal plan (even if you are lodging at a nearby hotel) that will cover many of the meals during the week as no meals are included in your congress registration fee. You are on your own for all meals Sunday through Friday. The only conference group meal that is available for purchase is the Thursday night banquet, which is $50 per person and limited to the first 500 who purchase a ticket.

Virginia Tech's dining program maintains a tradition of awarding winning service and has a national reputation for outstanding dining. In 2009, the dining program ranked number 1 for the Best Campus Food awarded by The Princeton Review. In the last five years, more than 50 colleges and businesses have visited the Virginia Tech dining facilities to see a successful university dining program in action

All meals on the dining plan are served in the Dietrick Dining Hall or "D2" as it is commonly referred to, a state-of-the-art facility that combines all-you-care-to-eat dining with the variety of an international marketplace. More information on the variety of food available in D2 is available at:

Three meal options are available for purchase:

Meal Option 1: $58.00 Includes two breakfasts, two lunches, and two dinners.

Meal Option 2: $87.00 Includes three breakfasts, three lunches, and three dinners.

Meal Option 3: $115.00 Includes four breakfasts, four lunches, and four dinners.

Your meal card will be loaded with the number of meals that you purchase and you have the flexibility to decide which meals you eat on which days in D2.

Meals are available during the following hours:

Breakfast: 7:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
Lunch: 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Dinner: 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

You must register and pay for the meal plan in advance. The registration deadline date for meal plan purchase is June 3, 2012.

Pre-registration for meal plans has now closed. You may purchase the meal plans on-site when you check in for the conference.

Alternatively, you may elect to eat all of your meals on your own. Blacksburg has a wide variety of restaurants to choose from, many of them within walking distance of the campus.
