Welcome to the second season of Lake Lugano Chamber Music Festival!

This festival is dedicated to chamber music, where the great master composers expressed their most intimate thoughts and feelings. Following the tradition set by the “classical” Haydn and Mozart, then developed into the “Romantic” style Beethoven, the beloved composers such as Schubert, Brahms, Mendelssohn, and Schumann, dedicated a major effort into composing the great treasures that we admire so much.

The performers participating in this festival are dedicated to chamber music. It is an international group, including artists from the US and several European countries.

Part of the festival is an intensive chamber music seminar where participating ensembles will study chamber music works, and will be able to perform whole works or parts during the festival. The participants will be coming from Europe, US, and Asia.

The name Lake Lugano was chosen because we hope to serve the area, from the bigger town of Lugano, to the other towns along the lake. Concerts will take place in several venues and will be advertised. Some performances and master classes will take place at the Virginia Tech Steger Center of International Scholarship, located in Riva San Vitale. The master classes are open to the public, and it is a great way for music lovers to learn some details about admired composers, some important information about style, unique quality of certain works, and more information that can make it more enjoyable for them when they attend concerts in the future.

Please join us in the events that are open to the public. We look forward to seeing you and meeting you this summer!
