Leading Through Lean

Learning outcomes:

  1. Review Lean Practitioner experience and projects.
  2. Breakdown of daily coaching skills needed for the continuous improvement process.
  3. Advanced concepts in flow and pull.
  4. Use metrics, motivation, and daily improvement as a means of setting the tone.
  5. Building upon Kaizen fundamentals and how to plan and to facilitate Kaizen events.
  6. Understand lean culture and its transformation of an organization.
  7. Use advanced creative problem-solving tools.
  8. Understand the principles of the learning organization.
  9. Learn the concepts of change, the resistance to change, and change leadership.
  10. Use motivational interviewing techniques.
  11. Understand the principles of lean leadership.
  12. Apply the Shingo Model of Operational Excellence.
  13. Learn how to implement policy and connecting strategy to frontline actions.
  14. Plan a lean transformation strategy.
  15. Learn the role of the Lean leader and Lean practitioner.
  16. Summation of experience and plan next steps for the future of Lean in organization.

Refund and Cancellation Policy: Refund requests must be received 14 calendar days prior to the program start date. A $75 administrative fee will be deducted from all refunds. Requests should be sent by email or by initiating a drop request through the student portal in our online registration system. As an alternative to a refund, you may send a substitute at no additional cost. Please contact us at 540-231-5182 or e-mail to request a substitution. Please note: refunds will not be issued for no-shows or for cancellations received on or after the program start date.

In the unlikely event that this program is cancelled or postponed due to insufficient enrollments or unforeseen circumstances, the university will fully refund registration fees but cannot be held responsible for any other expenses, including cancellation or change charges assessed by airlines, hotels, travel agencies, or other organizations.
