Groundwater Math for Small Systems - November 6-8, 2017 - Virginia Tech Richmond Center - Richmond, Virginia

General Information

Virginia Tech, under the auspices of a grant from the Virginia Department of Health (VDH), is pleased to announce the addition of another short course for waterworks personnel. This course focuses on the math associated with small systems, ranging in classification from Class VI to IV. The course is also designed to complement our short course, "Basic Groundwater Course for Small Systems," which has been offered and popular for several years. Among the topics addressed in this second groundwater course over a 3 day period are basic math, treatment systems, disinfection, water source, administrative math, hydraulics, and chemical feeders. As may be seen in the course schedule, participants will be given homework assignments at the end of the first and second days and then time is allotted on the following days to review the assignments. The course ends with a review period, an evaluation of the course, and a quiz. Participants will receive a manual that was expressly developed for this course.

Instructors for the course are from municipalities, VDH, and Virginia Tech. Class size will be limited to 25 people.
