The Governor's 2009 Summit on Manufacturing will be held on October 7th and 8th at the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center in Roanoke, Virginia.

The theme of this year's Summit is 'Renew Virginia: Are Manufacturers Ready?", and we will seek to provide participating companies with information and insights into how they might utilize a variety of resources to enhance their businesses and develop more environmentally sound, sustainable, and efficient operations.

This invitation-only working summit will convene key decision makers in manufacturing as well as public sector partners from across Virginia. Featured speakers at the Summit include: Paul Koonce, CEO of Dominion Virginia Power, Arthur Anton, CEO of Swagelok, Patrick Collignon, Vice President and General Manager of Volvo Truck North America, and Virginia Secretary of Commerce and Trade Patrick Gottschalk. Additionally, Secretary of Natural Resources Preston Bryant, Director of the Department of Mines, Minerals, and Energy Steve Walz, and Virginia Community College System Vice Chancellor for Workforce Development Peter Blake will discuss the various ways in which manufacturing fits into their departments' strategic vision for "Renew Virginia".
