Call for Abstracts: Presentations, Posters, & Tutorial Proposals
We are cordially inviting you to submit an abstract on Computational
Genomics. The themes for this year's conference are listed below,
however, we may also accept abstracts outside of these topics.
Themes:
- High-throughput automated genome annotation
- Bioinformatics for biological networks
- Bioinformatics for infectious diseases
Other topics include (but are not limited to):
Algorithms for Problems in Computational Biology
Biological Databases, Data Management, Data Integration, and Data Mining
Comparative Genomics
Computational Proteomics
Computational Systems Biology
Gene Identification, Regulation and Expression
Molecular Evolution and Phylogenetics
Molecular Sequence Analysis, Motifs, and Pattern Matching
Protein Structure and Modeling
Statistical Analysis of Molecular Sequences
Structural and Functional Genomics
Abstracts should not exceed 4,000 characters (including spaces) or a
two-page PDF. Abstracts must be submitted by August 17, 2006. Be sure
to include a title, presenter's name and contact information, and list
of contributors.
Please submit abstracts
electronically at:
http://scholardesk.com/abstracts/controller/welcome?_program=genomics2006
The program committee will evaluate all abstracts. Accepted abstracts
will be selected for oral or poster presentations (or tutorials if
specified as such during the submission process).
Tutorial Proposal Submission
We also invite proposals for tutorials. A tutorial is an educational,
interactive session, up to 2 hours in duration, on a theme relevant to
the conference. The authors of selected tutorials will be offered free
registration to this year's conference.
Tutorial proposals should not exceed 4,000 characters (including spaces)
or a two-page PDF. The submission should include a short CV of the
authors/presenters with a justification of why they are qualified for
the proposed theme. The application should document content, the
materials that will be distributed to the audience (e.g. copies of
slides), web-based demonstrations, if appropriate, and the prerequisites
expected from the audience to follow the tutorial. In particular,
applicants should explain clearly and concisely why the theme of the
tutorial is relevant to Computational Genomics 2006.
Please submit proposals electronically at:
http://scholardesk.com/abstracts/controller/welcome?_program=genomics2006
Important Dates:
Abstract Submission Deadline: August 17, 2006
Notification of acceptance: September 20, 2006
On-line registration deadline: October 13, 2006. After this date,
please call 540-231-5182 or register on-site at the conference.
Note: All presenters must register to attend.
