8th Annual Faculty Women of Color in the Academy National Conference - April 18-19, 2020 - - Academic Writing Retreat - April 19, 2020

Connect. Support. Empower.

The Faculty Women of Color in the Academy conference is a unique educational and professional opportunity for indigenous and women of color in higher education to network, engage, and learn with colleagues from around the country. Conference sessions explore topics of leadership, career advancement, personal well-being and scholar activism.

A message from Dr. Menah Pratt-Clarke, FWCA founder:

We recognize the importance of community and for women of color in the academy to gather in community, especially at this time. We are disappointed that we cannot gather in person, but gathering virtually is the best option at this time. We have worked with the national committee to develop what we hope to be a meaningful and impactful two-day experience. Please see our new virtual schedule. The schedule reflects a one day conference experience on Saturday, April 18th. We hope that may allow many of you to devote the day to self-care, empowerment, and personal and professional development. We will still be hosting the writing retreat, virtually, on Sunday, April 19th. Learn more on the Writing Retreat page.
