2016 FTA Environmental and Sustainability Management System (ESMS) Institute for transit agencies
The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) is offering Round 5 of Environmental and Sustainability Management Systems (ESMS) training and technical assistance for transit agencies. This training will be conducted by Virginia Tech faculty. The FTA ESMS Institute is a unique, in-depth, two-year training program for transit agencies interested in developing and implementing an ESMS using the ISO 14001:2015 Standard. A unique, in-depth, two-year training program for government and non- and for- profit organizations interested in developing and implementing an Environmental and Sustainability Management Systems (ESMS) using the ISO 14001:2015 standard. Integration of an ESMS by organizations has proven environmental and performance benefits and is based on a system of continual improvement. Organizations attending the Institute will be given all the tools necessary to develop and implement an ESMS specific to their organization.
Intro to ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems
A short course designed as a foundation for those new to an Environmental and Sustainability Management System (ESMS) or for those who wish to review the standard. This course will give an overview of what an ESMS is, the requirements of ISO 14001:2015, and how the standard provides a framework for creating an ESMS.
ISO 14001:2015 Migration Workshop
Designed specifically for those currently operating an Environmental and Sustainability Management System ESMS) and interested in learning what has changed in the migration to ISO 14001:2015. You’ll discover the latest changes and how they will affect your organization so you can begin putting migration plans in place. This course is particularly valuable for individuals directly involved in the planning, implementing, maintaining or auditing of an ISO 14001 ESMS.
