Suzanne Morse
President, Pew Partnership for Civic Change, and
Fellow, Virginia Tech's Center for Organizational & Technological Advancement

Before founding the Pew Partnership, Suzanne spent 19 years in philanthropy and higher education. From 1983 to 1992, she was at the Charles F. Kettering Foundation in Dayton, Ohio, where she concluded her tenure as Director of Programs for the Foundation. Before assuming her foundation position, she spent ten years in higher education administration in several public and private institutions. She received Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from The University of Alabama. She serves on the boards of the Charles F. Kettering Foundation, Paul J. Aicher Foundation, Piedmont Virginia Community College, and LEAD Virginia.

As fellow of the Center for Organizational and Technological Advancement, Suzanne leads programs in Roanoke at the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center for leaders and communities around the world providing solutions to community and civic engagement issues. She works with Virginia Tech, the City of Roanoke and its public schools on the Promise of Roanoke, a university-community partnership to strengthen workforce and economic development by focusing on the youth in Roanoke. Her work with the Center also focuses on citizen leadership development and building thriving communities through her Leadership Plenty and Smart Communities workshop series that help communities change the prospects for themselves and all of America. She is a frequent speaker on these topics and has published widely. Her latest book is Smart Communities: How Citizens and Local Leaders Can Build A Brighter Future.
