11th Workshop on the Physics of Dusty Plasmas
Williamsburg, Virginia - June 28 - July 1, 2006
Proceedings
As was done in the case of the 10th Workshop on the Physics of Dusty
Plasmas held in the US Virgin Islands, the proceedings of this workshop
will be published in a Special Issue of the IEEE Transactions on Plasma
Science http://www.ieeetps.org/ tentatively in the April, 2007 issue.
The deadline for receipt of manuscripts will be Friday, August 4, 2006.
All submissions will be made using standard IEEE Transactions on Plasma
Science procedures. The formal announcement for this Special Issue is
given below. This announcement will also be posted
in forthcoming issues of IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science.
Submission:
- All researchers in the dusty (complex) plasma community are invited to submit papers for the Special Issue - regardless of whether or not you are able to attend the 11th Workshop.
- All manuscripts will be peer-reviewed following the standards of the IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science (TPS).
- Articles published in IEEE TPS are subject to page charges. The
conference organizers have secured funding to defray the cost of these
page charges. Priority will be given to Workshop participants, students,
and researchers from developing countries. To apply for a waiver of
publication charges, please read the additional guidelines.
Preparation:
- All manuscripts are to be prepared using the standard IEEE
format. General as well as detailed information on manuscript
preparation, template files for Microsoft Word and LaTeX are available
at the following IEEE website:
http://www.ieee.org/organizations/pubs/transactions/stylesheets.htm
- Manuscript files are to be submitted electronically through the
IEEE TPS manuscript central website
http://tps-ieee.manuscriptcentral.com/ as described therein.
- All authors should note that they must submit copyright and page
charge forms upon acceptance of their manuscripts which can be obtained
from the IEEE TPS website.
- The Guest Editors for the proceedings are the following:
Guidelines required to receive a publication cost waiver
In addition to the general guidelines listed on the previous page, if an
author wishes to request a waiver of publication costs by the Guest
Editors, then the following additional guidelines must be followed. By
following these guidelines, the Guest Editors hope to maximize the
number of papers that can be supported by the Workshop organizers. Note
that the number of papers to receive waivers will be highly limited.
- Authors must strictly format their paper following the IEEE guidelines.
- Authors must limit their papers to four typeset pages. The approximate length of a paper can be approximated by:
Typeset pages = [Number of pages of typed, double-spaced text + number of figures + number of tables] / 4
- Papers can ONLY include black and white or gray-scale images. Color figures require significant additional page charges and, thus, cannot be covered.
- Authors must submit a request to the Guest Editors (A list with
e-mail address will be posted shortly) via e-mail asking for a waiver of
publication costs. Please include your name, contact information, and
title of your submitted paper. Please also indicate if you attended the
workshop and whether or not you are a student. If you are a student,
also include an e-mail address for your advisor.
Highest priority will be given to graduate students and post-doctoral
researchers. Researchers from developing countries will also be given
higher priority for these requests. We hope to support up to 10 - 12
papers using these funds.
Support for this activity is provided by the United States Department of
Energy.
