Parent/Guardian Track at College Bound 2008
You are invited!!!

College Bound (CB) is pleased to extend an invitation to parents and guardians of students attending College Bound 2008. College Bound promotes and supports the success of students with disabilities in higher education and our Parent/Guardian Track offers the opportunity for parents and guardians to acquire valuable transition information and explore aspects of their changing role as parents and guardians of a college student.

Our Parent/Guardian Track for College Bound 2008 will integrate the best parts of College Bound with sessions that are designed specifically for parents and guardians. Parents and guardians participate in workshops and activities in parallel sessions with College Bound students and transition professionals. Sessions include information and resources related to:

• IDEA to ADA
• New parent/guardian role
• Rights and responsibilities
• Assistive technologies
• Self determination & student involvement
• College disability supports & accommodations
• Organization & study skills
• Financial aid and resources
• Networking with transition professionals and college service providers

Parents and guardians consistently report that they leave our program with a better understanding of how to support their child as they transition from high school to college. Recent parent and guardian comments include:
