summer. Write about your wildest dreams, your favorite sport, your fears
and hopes, your best friend, your family stories, your most intriguing
challenges. All of these and more can be explored in the company of
professional writers at Virginia Tech. All Write @ Virginia Tech is
the ideal summer experience for young people who want to write about
things that
matter. It's a place where anything can be imagined and
where writing rules! Join us for a week-long creative writing camp, and
learn many ways to record and preserve your feelings in poetry, fiction,
and non-fiction! All workshops are taught by Virginia Tech faculty.
These creative workshops offer aspiring writers and poets a fun and
exciting learning adventure in writing! Students will make new friends
while improving their creativity and writing ability.

Workshops
These creative workshops offer aspiring writers and poets a fun and
exciting learning adventure in writing! Students will make new friends
while improving their creativity and writing abilities.
Workshops are for students ages 8 to 18. Students will be placed in
workshops based on their ages. All classes will touch on
poetry, fiction, and non-fiction.
Write about your experiences and examine the elements, techniques and craft of:
poetry sound, rhythm, word choice,
and form
fiction character, setting, voice, dialogue, and conflict
non-fiction personal essays, memory sketches, memoirs, and journaling
