Working Together to Define Construction Education for the Next 50 Years
On behalf of the faculty, and students of Virginia Tech's Department of Building Construction, you are invited to join us at the 50th International Conference of the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) in Washington, DC on March 26-28, 2014.
The theme for this year's conference is: "Construction Education for the Next 50 Years - Preparing our future professionals for new challenges and opportunities including life skills, globalization, and technology-enhanced construction."
In addition to the signature tracks traditionally offered by previous ASC conferences, this year's 50th anniversary conference will include new tracks that reflect some of the emerging technologies and integrated practices that promise to continue moving our construction industry forward. A pre-conference workshop is planned on Wednesday March 26 and will focus on topics critical to preparing the next generation of construction professionals. A spouse/guest program is planned on Thursday March 27 and Friday March 28. The program is designed to allow spouses and guests enjoy sightseeing in Washington DC and the surrounding area, renew acquaintances and make new friends through a variety of self-guided and guided tours to key attractions around the city.
We would also like to welcome you to our nation's capital and venue for this year's 50th annual conference. Washington, DC, is rich in culture and heritage, delicious cuisine, and monuments dedicated to great American leaders and heroes. During your stay, we encourage you to explore the many attractions the city has to offer, including the Smithsonian, the National Mall, museums, government buildings, sightseeing tours, national landmarks, and much more.
We look forward to hosting you in Washington, DC, on March 26-28, 2014. We hope you can join us!
