Short Courses for Class VI Waterworks Operators - Various Dates and Locations in 2007

One of the Virginia Center for Very Small Waterworks' highest priorities is ensuring that operators are properly trained before they take the Class VI licensure examination. The Center, in cooperation with Virginia Tech, is offering a short course designed specifically for Class VI operators to assist them in passing the Class VI Waterworks examination. Waterworks operators serving 3300 people or less may attend at the Virginia Department of Health's sponsored discount rate of $79. Other persons may register for the short course at the full fee of $1265.

Locations and Accommodations

The 2007 short course will be offered at the following locations. Please indicate the course you wish to attend on the registration form.

Roanoke, VA - August 20-22, 2007
The Roanoke short course and lodging will be at The Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center located at 110 Shenandoah Avenue in downtown Roanoke.

Richmond, VA - September 17-19, 2007
The Richmond courses will be at the Virginia Tech Richmond Center located at 2810 Parham Road. Lodging accommodations will be at the Sheratron Richmond West, located at 6624 W. Broad Street. A shuttle service will be available to transport you to and from the Richmond Center.

Registration

The registration deadline is 21 days prior to each course. You will receive a letter advising you of your enrollment, lodging room confirmation number, and a detailed map of the area. You may check into your lodging room on Day 1 after 4:00 p.m.

Purpose

Under Virginia's Waterworks Regulations, all Class VI waterworks operators must hold a valid Class VI or higher license. The overall goal of the short course is to cover all the content areas of the Class VI examination. This program is for operators who want to spend a short, intense amount of time preparing for the exam. You will receive extensive information about the operation, maintenance, and administration of Class VI waterworks. Several experts from Virginia will teach the specific subject matter contained in the "Class VI Operator's Training Manual."

About the Short Course

Participants should bring their "Class VI Operator's Training Manual - Version II" and a calculator to class. Please note topics below and their corresponding chapter references.

Continuing Education Units

You will receive a certificate awarding 1.6 Continuing Education Units for successful completion of the course.
