The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) has established the "Virginia Center for Very Small Waterworks" which has a primary mission to provide candidates for the Class VI Waterworks license with information and training needed to obtain licensure. The Center's website is www.vaclassix.com.

The Center, in partnership with Virginia Tech, has developed a series of video conferencing workshops, called the "Professional Development Workshops for Class VI Operators." The series will focus on the seven (7) major parts of the licensing examination. These workshops are offered to you at NO cost.

The workshops will be broadcast simultaneously to the thirteen locations identified on the "Class VI Operators' Workshop Registration Form" (available soon). Through the use of interactive technology you will have the opportunity to engage in discussions and to ask specific questions of the presenters and participants around the Commonwealth. The workshops will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. and conclude at approximately 2:00 p.m.

Please bring your "Class VI Operator's Training Manual" to the workshops. If you do not have a manual, please contact Mr. Jack Lilly at (540) 231-9447, or jacklily@vt.edu, to order one. You will receive a notebook of supplemental materials presented in each session. These resources can be used again and again as a reference in your daily work and assist you in passing the licensure exam.

You will also receive 0.3 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) for each of the workshops you successfully complete. A Certificate of Participation recognizing your three (3) contact hours will be awarded should you attend and not complete the quiz or fail to meet the 80 percent pass rate.
