National Health Outreach Conference - April 6-8, 2016 - The Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center - Roanoke, Virginia

Pre-Conference

Wednesday April 6, 12:30 to 5:00 pm
Topic: A Picture of Health: How are Land-grant universities fitting into the puzzle?

Description: Health Care pieces seem scattered and embedded in social, educational, medical and even political systems. To guide or give leadership to such a massive system takes a coordinated effort that engages many diverse partners. The National Health Outreach pre-conference will host a stimulating session that will engage participants to craft a world view of health. Using an adapted moderated world-cafe approach, National Health Outreach pre-conference participants will engage in the progressive national dialogue with Cooperative Extension/Experiment Station professionals. The themes are increasing Health Literacy and Heath Insurance Literacy, Health in All Policies, Positive Youth Development for Health and Chronic Disease Prevention and Management. All resulting suggestions and concepts will be compiled and presented later in the conference. The moderator, Andy Thomas, will dynamically guide the process. This is limited to 80 participants. Lunch is included.
